In central Budapest, a new restaurant invites guests not only to dine but to enter a realm shaped by memory, experimentation, and the afterlives of forgotten materials. Onyx Æther, designed by URBA with artistic contributions from Ejtech, unfolds as a spatial exploration of how reclaimed matter can reveal stories that transcend traditional hospitality design. The result is an interior that feels alive, expressive, and continuously shifting in tone, like an immersive installation that happens to serve world-class cuisine.

Onyx Æther is situated in a historic urban fabric, yet the design refuses to rely on nostalgia. Instead, URBA embraces a forward-looking philosophy. The restaurant becomes a laboratory where the past is not erased but transformed. Reclaimed wood, recycled stone fragments, and reconfigured industrial components are elevated from discarded remnants to expressive elements that define texture, volume, and atmosphere. Every surface carries the subtle imprint of time. Every material speaks with its own quiet resonance.
